The Case of Silica Gel Desiccant for Pet Automatic Feeder

Having a pet or pet is a popular choice in many countries nowadays, and there are no more popular pets than dogs and cats. There are a number of web-based automatic pet feeders on the market that can put dog or cat food into a bowl at regular intervals.

Dry pet food might become stale, lose its crunchiness, and become unappetizing when exposed to air for extended periods. Pets are known to be sensitive to changes in texture and might be reluctant to eat food that has lost its desirable texture.

And cat food can spoil when exposed to air for too long. Bacteria, molds, and other microorganisms can grow in the food, causing it to develop an unpleasant odor, texture, and appearance. Consuming spoiled food can lead to digestive issues for your cat.

The advent of smart pet feeders has changed that. The manufacturer we worked with this time, they designed a special place at the top of the storage compartment for the desiccant in order to prevent the cat food in the compartment from getting damp and moldy. It can be opened manually to make it easy for pet owners to replace the saturated desiccant every time they add food.

At first, we try 10g silica gel desiccant, but it does not fit well, too big to install, as the picture shows below.

so we use a smaller desiccant instead, which is 2g silica gel packets, size is 35*45mm, these silica gel packets are food grade, proved by FDA, and can be used for pet food, even human foods.

They will deliver some desiccant with the product, packaged in reusable vacuum bags, which has earned them a good reputation for their pet automatic feeder.
